MADE IN ENGLAND

Art Inspired by South Asian Immigrants — 1966 to 2016

OVERVIEW

Made in England is an original art collection and immersive story of South Asian immigrants in Britain from the early settlers of the 1960s to the modern generation shaping today’s multicultural identity.

Our artworks are visual time capsules of untold stories, moments that were never documented, voices that were never heard, a living archive of people, emotions, and memories that define what it means to evolve in England.

CREATIVE VISION

Through AI-generated art, moving images, spoken word, and music scores, we guide our audience through an immersive, digital, and emotional storytelling experience, bringing to life fifty years of South Asian immigrants from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh who made England their home.

Each artwork is a living scene in their time and location, a historic moment in their journey and insight into their life transforming paths.

ART WITH MEANING

Through storytelling, symbolism and characters, we help audiences see these people not as statistics or outsiders, but as humans seeking stability, dignity, and a better life. By doing so, we can influence perception,  helping people understand that immigration is not just movement, it is human evolution through courage and hope.

  • Immigration today is often misunderstood; we show the success, humanity, and beauty of that journey. TV

  • We honour the courage and contribution of South Asian families who helped build modern Britain.

  • We remind England that it was not only a destination but a partner — communities opened doors, offered work, and shared kindness.

  • We celebrate collaboration — immigrants and English people building a new culture together.

  • We highlight that identity in Britain is richer because of this exchange.

  • We show how generations turned struggle into belonging, and belonging into creativity.

  • We humanise these stories — revealing the people behind migration, their emotions, fears, and hopes.

WHO IT REPRESENTS

The people in our stories are everyday individuals each with their own dreams, challenges, personalities, and needs. They are people whose realities changed forever when they left one world and began another.

This collection captures their experiences in detail — diverse lives and characters from different backgrounds, each shaped by their time and circumstance. Every visual takes us back into their world, showing how they lived, what surrounded them, and how they adapted through courage, work, and love.

  • Early Workers & Fathers – Men who arrived first, often alone, working in factories, mills, and transport to create a foundation for their families.

  • Mothers & Homemakers – Women who built warmth and stability in unfamiliar places, holding families together through change and uncertainty.

  • Families & Communities – People who turned small houses into homes, neighbours into extended families, and streets into living communities.

  • The Creatives & Rebels – Artists, musicians, and free thinkers who used expression to question norms and create new voices within British culture.

  • Innovators & Entrepreneurs – The visionaries who saw opportunity in hardship and built businesses that transformed both their lives and the economy.

The Children & Grandchildren – Generations born from this journey, redefining identity, confidence, and creativity in a modern, multicultural Britain.

HOW WE SHARE IT

It’s important that this story is seen and experienced by the world — especially now, in a time where immigration, trust, and belonging are constant challenges. With so much political and social division, we believe stories like these can reconnect people through understanding and empathy.

That’s why we’re not keeping Made in England confined to galleries or exclusive art spaces. We’re taking it directly to the people — making it accessible, relatable, and immersive for everyone. This story deserves to live beyond walls, reaching hearts through every possible form of expression.

THE INTENTION

Our intention is to create something that goes beyond art, a shared human experience. Made in England exists to connect people through empathy, memory, and recognition.

It’s about giving dignity to those who built new lives in a foreign land, and reminding us all of the strength that comes from unity. Through this work, we hope to inspire reflection, pride, and understanding — to show that every story, no matter where it begins, has a place in shaping who we are today.

THE INSPIRATION

The Made in England project was born from a personal journal kept by Jai Sol for more than thirty years. Since his early twenties, he has documented stories, interviews, and images of South Asian families across the UK — collecting memories from those who arrived in the 1960s to the generations that followed.

What began as a private record of conversations and encounters has evolved into the foundation of this collection. Every artwork, character, and visual draws from those handwritten notes, photographs, and sketches — capturing the real voices, moments, and emotions that shaped a lifetime of reflection.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jai Sol is a British born Indian artist whose work explores identity, transformation, and the human condition. Over the last three decades, he has exhibited internationally, combining traditional, digital, and AI methods to create powerful visual narratives.

His art blends storytelling, philosophy, and emotion — connecting audiences to deeper questions about culture, belonging, and self. Made in England represents the culmination of his lifelong journey as both artist and observer — transforming his archive of lived experiences into a timeless record of what it means to belong, to endure, and to create.

Jai’s legacy is not only the art he has created, but the lives it has touched. His journey stands as proof that authenticity endures beyond fashion or fame  that art made with integrity can change how we see ourselves, others, and the world.

CLOSING STATEMENT

Made in England is not a reflection of the past — it is a declaration of who we are today. It stands as a reminder that identity is built, not inherited; that belonging is earned through courage, contribution, and compassion.

This collection exists to preserve truth — the human truth — of those who came, stayed, and shaped the spirit of modern Britain.
